The era when burgers and fries dominated the fast-casual dining scene is fading. Modern consumers are looking for a broader culinary experience, demanding more diverse options than ever before. This change has resulted in a highly competitive environment where innovation and responsiveness are crucial for success.

During the Fast Casual Executive Summit in Denver next month, a session titled “Beyond Burgers & Fries: Diversifying Your Menu for Competitive Advantage” will cover the strategies driving fast-casual restaurants to thrive in today’s market. Attendees will learn about recognizing emerging trends, segmenting target customers, and modifying menus to fit their preferences. Four speakers will discuss essential tools and techniques to cultivate a competitive advantage.

Find out how to create enticing new menu items without impacting profit margins, as well as how technology is transforming operations and enhancing the dining experience through personalization.

The lineup of speakers includes: Dave Beer, COO of Mahana Fresh; Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants; Justin Livingston, VP of franchise development for Ziggi’s Coffee; and Janet Monroe, CEO of ClusterTruck. Luis Lara, SVP of business development for Consolidated Concepts, will serve as the moderator for the session, which is sponsored by Consolidated Concepts.

Monroe expressed that at ClusterTruck, the brand prioritizes variety and customization to meet the changing preferences of consumers today.

“With more than 100 items on our menu, constantly updated limited-time offerings, and the option to customize meals, there’s no need for anyone to settle,” she explained. “From pizza and burgers to salads, tacos, pad Thai, or vegan options, our menu caters to all tastes. Offering fresh, trendy, and high-quality meals with this level of variety guarantees customer satisfaction and encourages repeat visits.”

The Fast Casual Executive Summit is scheduled for October 13-15 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Organized by Networld Media Group, which is the parent company of Fastcasual, Pizza Marketplace, and QSRweb, this event will gather restaurant leaders and operators from across the nation.
