The introduction of a fresh epicurean venue called Anthology has been revealed by Explora Journeys, under the ownership of the renowned MSC Group. The newly launched dining establishment on board Explora I presents visitors with an exceptional dining encounter that highlights the varied terrains of Italian culinary artistry.

Crafted by Chef Franck Garanger, whose culinary journey began as an apprentice at the distinguished Michelin-starred Le Vert D’Eau in Angers, France, Anthology features cuisines that celebrate the distinctive ingredients and tastes of Italy.

Highlighted dishes encompass Mediterranean seabass with Arabica coffee and tonka bean, as well as scallop cannelloni with black truffle. Vegetarian alternatives are accessible for every meal.

Renowned for his collaboration with culinary luminaries such as Paul Bocuse, Alain Passard, and Thierry Marx, Garanger is recognized for creating delicacies that embody the cultural and gastronomic legacy of the areas that inspire him.

In his reflection on the new specialized eatery, “Anthology represents more than merely a dining venue; it signifies a voyage across Italy’s epicurean terrain,” stated Garanger.

He elaborated by saying, “It is about conveying the essence of Italian culinary artistry, one dish at a time. This establishment reflects the intricate blend of sights, aromas, and tastes that compose Italian cuisine, a subject I feel fervently about.”

The ambiance at Anthology is contemporary and sophisticated, providing a private yet elevated dining setting. Visitors have the option to observe chefs preparing meals behind glass or opt for an alfresco dining experience, gazing upon the waters of the Western and Eastern Mediterranean while on board the 63,900-ton majestic vessel, Explora I.

Anthology Expands Culinary Collection

Operating exclusively for dinner, Anthology can accommodate 48 individuals indoors and 22 outdoors, adding to the existing array of five distinct signature diners aboard Explora I, elevating the total culinary options to 18.

Noteworthy additions include the Med Yacht Club, serving locally sourced Mediterranean dishes, and Marble & Co. Grill, a refined steakhouse offering top-grade meat selections.

Furthermore, the ship boasts Emporium Marketplace, a global cuisine hub, and Sakura, an oriental dining establishment. Twelve internal and external bars are also at the visitors’ disposal.

Joining Explora I in September 2024, Explora II will similarly traverse the Mediterranean, sailing between Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy, and Barcelona, Spain.

Anthology will feature on board, while Explora II will present a parallel assortment of diners akin to its sibling ship. After successful sea trials on June 12, 2024, Explora II achieved another milestone.

Explora Journeys’ enthusiasm for culinary adventures extends to an exclusive 12-seat Chef’s Kitchen. Here, gastronomic professionals lead patrons through an exploration of novel ingredients, flavors, and traditions in a secluded seaside locale. Post instruction, visitors can savor the final product in a private adjacent dining space.

Explora Journeys is poised to expand its fleet with six vessels launched by 2028. Explora III is slated for debut in 2026, while Explora IV and Explora V are anticipated in 2027. Explora VI will be the ultimate addition to the fleet in 2028.
