Years back, siblings Iliya and Nikita Bridan, passionate about automobiles and design, embarked on
a journey to realize their fantasy car endeavor rooted in the essence of the
Porsche 911 and drawing inspiration from ’60s racing vehicles. Dubbed the Half11, it echoes the
Porsche 911 in appearance, integrates a tubular steel racing frame, and houses a JMS Racing Chevy LS powertrain. After an extensive period of refinement and assessments, the Bridan brothers are now offering their prototype
for sale, with a price tag of $600,
000 for any willing buyer with the means.
Originally envisioned as a modernized Porsche 911, this creation blossomed into an entirely bespoke marvel. Retaining only fragments from the ’60s 911, such as the exposed front section including the fenders and frunk flooring, the Half11 boasts a predominantly custom tubular steel construction, reminiscent of vintage
F1 car skeletons. The “Half11” moniker may appear generous, as it embodies more of a Tenth11 essence. Observing its final manifestation, the only remnant of its “911” lineage lies in the evocative shape of its headlights, with the body crafted from hand-shaped aluminum.
Nestled within its central engine bay resides a JMS Racing Chevy LS V8 motor purportedly generating 650
horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The Bridan brothers, operating under their venture
Oil Stain Lab, assert that it can achieve 0-60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds, with a top speed topping 200 mph. Validation of these
performance specs can only be confirmed through independent assessment post-purchase. Nevertheless, with such substantial power, a lightweight tubular frame, and extensive racing tires, the claims by Oil Stain Lab don’t seem far-fetched.
However, it’s crucial to recognize that this isn’t a legendary race car with an illustrious track record, nor is it engineered in homage to one, despite the implications from Oil Stain Lab’s Instagram imagery. Instead, the Half11 represents the ingenuity and passion of the Bridan siblings, who’ve birthed something truly distinctive, drawing inspiration from the general era of ’60s endurance racing prototypes.
Nonetheless, driving the Half11 promises an exhilarating experience. Crafted by Joe Scarbo of Scarbo Performance in California, the chassis incorporates pushrod-actuated Öhlins dampers, a formidable Chevy LS connected to a 996-gen 911 GT2 six-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and a mere 1,850 pounds in weight. As anticipated, it’s bound to be an adrenaline-pumping ride similar to its muse, yet that’s where parallels to icons like the Porsche 917, Ferrari “P” series, and Ford GT40 conclude.
The inaugural Half11 prototype is presently up for sale through The Arsenale at a price of $600,000. Oil Stain Lab intends to produce 25 of these futuristic creations, hinting at coupe and speedster variants following this windshield-free experimental model. The number 25 aligns with “homologation rules” as disclosed in the listing, maintaining the mid-century racing fiction theme.
