Exploring the latest insights in the JConcepts Friday5 with Nebraska’s ace driver, TJ Williams!
1. Every interview begs this question – How did you venture into the world of RC racing?
Introduced by my uncle with an original ARRMA Granite during Christmas at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex). Realizing its limitations, we upgraded to a Traxxas Slash 4×4, and from there, I transitioned to a B6.1 and consistently enhanced my RC gear.
2. This season marked your entry as a fresh member of the JConcepts team. What aspirations drive you for the year ahead, and what unique contributions do you believe you bring to the team?
Targeting a top 15 finish in both Expert buggy categories and a top 10 slot in Stadium Truck at the INS14 series. I perceive myself as an ambitious competitor and a devoted racer. My vision for success in the RC community is lofty.
3. Envisioning the 1/10 off-road electric scene a decade from now, do you anticipate more dirt, carpet, or turf tracks prevailing and why?
Eager to see 1/10 dirt tracks persist, but a shift towards full carpet tracks seems plausible. Sustaining dirt tracks demands significant effort and expense, making carpet tracks a viable alternative in the face of escalating costs.
4. JConcepts has gained acclaim for its tires and bodies; however, from your viewpoint, what essential tool or accessory is overlooked by fellow racers on event day?
The JConcepts Aluminum Camber and Ride Height Gauges hold my preference for their precision and aesthetics. The compact storage case is convenient for hassle-free organization in confined spaces.
5. Beyond RC cars, what other leisure activities do you engage in?
Given the opportunity, I indulge in fishing and relish moments with THE BOYZ engaging in games, alongside quality time with my partner.
