Lightbox Ice Cream
Meet Hannah Russell, the co-founder of Lightbox Ice Cream, which she established with her partner Jason, located in Nashville, TN. Originally from the southern region of Georgia, Jason and Hannah made the move to Tennessee in 2020 to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Both have extensive backgrounds in the food and hospitality industry. Jason, a professionally trained chef, has honed his skills working in various hotels, restaurants, and most recently as a personal chef in Nashville. On the other hand, Hannah has a wealth of experience in grocery and food production, specializing in marketing and branding health-conscious packaged food items. Even though indulging in fresh peach ice cream was a cherished memory from their childhoods in the south, it wasn’t until they left the traditional food industry and ventured to work on a dairy farm in Alabama that they started seeing ice cream in a new perspective. Their shared aspiration to establish a family-run enterprise, coupled with their career trajectories, love for entrepreneurship, and extensive professional backgrounds, laid the foundation for their distinctive brand. They aimed to create a brand that reflects their identities and the positive impact they aspire to make in the world – spreading more joy, fostering lighthearted moments, and creating more opportunities for unforgettable experiences! And what better medium to achieve this than through ice cream?! Various extraordinary experiences culminated in the establishment of Lightbox, including a study trip on gelato in Italy, earning an “Ice Cream Certified” accreditation from Penn State University, and finally materializing a business that involves their entire family (including 3 children, 2 dogs, and 5 chickens). Lightbox epitomizes their commitment to radiate more light into the universe!
