Land Rover has introduced a “fully restored” classic Defender featuring a 5-litre V8 petrol engine, priced at £190,000 plus tax.
The value of classic-shape Defenders has soared since the model was phased out in 2016. Now, Land Rover’s Works Bespoke division is providing customers with near-new versions that come with a performance upgrade.
These Classic Defender V8 vehicles are available in both three-door ‘90’ and five-door ‘110’ configurations, each equipped with a V8 petrol engine under the hood.
Second V8 Classic Offering
This marks the second occasion Land Rover has launched a V8-powered classic Defender since discontinuing the original model, following the debut of the Works V8 in 2018.
Similar to purchasing a new Land Rover, customers can customize their Classic Defender V8 through an online configurator. The restoration process will be tailored to showcase the customer’s personality, though these vehicles will be previously owned Defenders that are restored to like-new standards.
Land Rover Supplies the Donor Vehicles
Land Rover is responsible for procuring the donor vehicles for this initiative, selecting examples manufactured between 2012 and 2016, and then “re-engineering” them to ensure they meet the “longevity, strength, and enduring quality” expected of a modern production car.
