A woman from Colorado, who owns two Subarus, has found herself inundated with requests from people wanting to buy her 15-year-old Outback. The interest seems puzzling, as it stems largely from the residents’ love for Subarus in the state.

Katie Kline’s 2002 Subaru Outback, despite being parked in her driveway in Westminster—complete with a broken roof rack—has received several offers, according to local news station KUSA. The influx of inquiries prompted Kline to place signs on her vehicle stating, “NOT FOR SALE. DON’T ASK AND LEAVE.”

A local news anchor described the scenario as one of the “most Colorado things we’ve ever seen.”

“It all began about six weeks ago,” Kline shared with KUSA. “A man knocked on my door and didn’t introduce himself; he just asked, ‘Can I buy your Subaru outside for more than it’s worth?’”

Though she turned down the offer, more people have since expressed interest in her Outback.

Kline attributes the excessive inquiries to the undeniable affection Colorado residents have for Subarus.

“It’s the state car of Colorado,” she noted. “You can do anything with it.”

Given the attention her car has garnered, Kline plans to hold onto her Subaru tightly.

“I’m not going through the hassle of trying to find a good deal on another Subaru,” she said.
