A driver in New Jersey experienced a heart-stopping moment when his Acura TL Type-S came to a precarious stop on a highway barrier, dangerously balanced over a ledge over the weekend.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Miguel Vargas, was reportedly behind the wheel during the incident, as per NJ.com. Authorities reported that both Vargas and a passenger managed to exit the vehicle safely before leaving the scene of the accident.
Later, Vargas was located by law enforcement and charged with failing to report the incident, leaving the scene, and careless driving, according to NJ.com.
While the cause of the accident remains uncertain, it is evident that the driver was just a moment away from a potentially fatal fall. The vehicle’s placement and the wet road conditions suggest he may have lost control and struck the curb hard enough to drive onto the barrier. Fortunately, the fence prevented a catastrophic plunge onto I-278 below.
