Bugatti Divo: Exclusive Hypercar Undergoes Testing in Desert Conditions
Since its launch at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the highly exclusive Bugatti Divo hypercar has not been showcased extensively. Only sporadic images from press releases and social media have offered glimpses of this limited-production model, which is based on the Chiron. With only 40 units set to be made—each already sold out—the Divo remains a rare sight.
Recently, Bugatti released several photos depicting the Divo in action during hot weather testing in the desert, sporting a sleek all-black exterior as it sped along sun-drenched roads.
The Divo features the same powerful 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine found in the Chiron, producing 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque, distributed to all four wheels. Although the Divo doesn’t exceed the Chiron’s power, it is 77 pounds lighter and incorporates various aerodynamic enhancements that improve its on-track performance. Notably, the vehicle’s sides are designed to direct airflow to the rear wing and aid in brake cooling, as illustrated in the accompanying images.

Bugatti reports that the Divo has reached speeds of up to 155 miles per hour in temperatures around 104 degrees Fahrenheit during testing.

With impressive specs—including 1,005 pounds of downforce and 1.6 G of lateral acceleration—the Divo commands a price tag of $5.8 million. Its exclusivity makes it a remarkable sight, notably more so than other high-performance competitors like Koenigsegg and McLaren. Interestingly, it’s not even the most expensive variant of the Chiron, as that title goes to the $12.5 million La Voiture Noire, which was custom-built for Bugatti’s most valued customers.
For now, enthusiasts may have to settle for the more commonly seen Chiron, as the Divo’s rarity makes it a true collector’s item.
