Cadillac has launched two limited-edition Blackwing models to honor its legacy at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, aligning the announcement with this year’s race weekend.
The new 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition and CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Edition will be distinguished by their Magnus Matte exterior color, blue-tinted Stormhawk carbon fiber accents, glossy black mirror caps, Royal Blue brake calipers, black badging, and heritage number graphic inlays. Additionally, the sides of the vehicles will display the respective edition names.
Inside, buyers can choose between Jet Black or Cool Gray seating, both featuring special stitching that incorporates their respective racing numbers. The interior design prominently presents Phantom Blue accents complemented by Santorini Blue trim, topped off with a 3D-printed commemorative medallion positioned on the manual transmission shifters.
Both Blackwing editions will also include door sill plates with heritage numbering and a special Cadillac Collector Series plaque attached to the B-pillar.
These unique Blackwing models revive two renowned names, both celebrating their 75th anniversary this year.
In 1950, Briggs Cunningham and partners Miles and Sam Collier made history by entering two Cadillac Series 61 coupes in the Circuit de la Sarthe, marking the first post-war American cars to compete in Le Mans. Cunningham co-drove the No. 2 “Le Monstre,” while the Colliers handled the No. 3 “Petit Pataud.”
During that time, race regulations allowed entrants to modify a stock chassis. The Le Monstre team adapted their vehicle into a wedge-shaped design, while Petit Pataud retained much of its original coupe appearance. Both vehicles successfully completed the race, with Petit Pataud achieving 10th place overall and Le Monstre close behind in 11th after recovering from a 35th-place position due to an early-race issue.
Production for the Le Mans tribute Blackwing models is set to begin in early 2025. To commemorate the 1950 debut, only 50 units of the Petit Pataud CT4-V Blackwing will be produced, while 101 of the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition will be made, honoring the 101st anniversary of Le Mans itself.
