Cadillac has released its InnerSpace concept to imagine what the future of transportation might be. This is all part of their Halo project that has multiple possibilities of what the coming decades might hold.

Looking into the Future

In particular, the InnerSpace design is imagining two people in a luxurious space enjoying themselves within it since they no longer need to be driving on their own anymore. The ones describing the project compare this to Runabout models from early in Cadillac’s history since this allowed people to go further and explore more.

In the same way, the idea is that this concept from the future of over a decade or more will allow passengers to focus on their journey, or just on the luxury space their in, rather than having to worry about their driving.

The concept further explores what might happen if vehicles were perfectly safe and perfectly autonomous. It would mean that you could spend more time exploring whatever you want, whether it is the terrain you’re moving over or inside the vehicle or communications throughout.

Some of the early ideas for this include making use of panoramic SMD LED display tech. This would even make it so that drivers could access Augmented Reality from their car. This option would let people learn about the world around them as they drive through it. The Ultifi option from Cadillac would even make it so that third parties would be able to develop whatever they wanted for vehicles like InnerSpace. Augmented Reality can even be something as simple as changing color filters or themes associated with what you see outside.

Other ideas included the Ultium Platform wireless battery management systems. This would lead Cadillac designers to maximize spaciousness in a way they could never have before. Other options for this design could include panoramic glass on the sides and roof of the vehicle so that passengers could view their environment outside like they never could before. Options like special Goodyear tires and SoundComfort tech could make the ride even quieter than ever before. This is especially the case when you combine it with electric engines that make little noise to begin with in the first place.
