Aptera has concluded its crowdfunding efforts. Ford is issuing a recall for Maverick Hybrid and Escape Hybrid models due to a software glitch. Meanwhile, BMW remains steadfast in its EV objectives amidst wavering stances from other car manufacturers. Stay informed with Green Car Reports.

BMW is maintaining its commitment to the electric vehicle goals set forth several years ago—aiming for 50% of sales to be fully electric by 2030, excluding hybrids or plug-in hybrids. However, BMW’s CEO Oliver Zipse has refrained from specifying a definitive phase-out date for traditional combustion engines, underscoring the company’s intention to remain adaptable, potentially even into the 2030s.

Ford is conducting a recall on select Maverick and Escape hybrid models, as well as some Lincoln Corsair plug-in hybrids, to address a potential issue that could trigger a “limp mode” scenario. While the fix requires a software update, owners will need to visit a dealership for the service.

Aptera has announced the conclusion of its crowdfunding campaign for the three-wheel EV post-June. Despite progress, additional funding is required to actualize the Launch Edition solar EV production. The company asserts plans to introduce the vehicle on a larger scale by 2025.
