Blackwing Cadillacs to Finally Receive Distinct Badges from Other V Cars

The Blackwing sedans from Cadillac, namely the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing, stand out as exceptional driver’s vehicles. The CT5 marks the final V8 sports sedan offering a manual transmission, and the CT4 is essentially cruising ahead as GM triumphs over the M3.

However, there’s a significant quandary: the naming and badging of these vehicles are somewhat perplexing. While “Blackwing” is appended to the esteemed performance brand “V,” neither sedan actually displays the Blackwing name on their exterior. Thankfully, this issue is now being rectified.

According to GM Authority, all new and existing Blackwing Cadillacs will receive a Blackwing badge. Owners of current cars are being notified via email to visit a dealership and have the badge installed.

The badge, placed below the existing “V” badge on the rear of the vehicles, is relatively small. Although subtle, it signifies an improved coherence in the cars’ badging, signaling a positive step forward. While it would have been preferable for Cadillac not to dilute its “V” brand initially, progress is progress.

If you own a Blackwing Cadillac and have not yet received an email regarding the badge, you can contact 1-800-333-4223, provide your VIN, and initiate the process. If you’re considering purchasing a Blackwing, it’s advisable to peruse our array of car reviews first to maximize the potential of that $100,000 burning a hole in your pocket.
