Recently, Subaru captured attention with an impressive feat down a mile-long bobsled track. The footage showcased a heavily modified WRX STi navigating through an unusual terrain, which is a remarkable sight even for a Subaru. Behind the wheel was none other than Mark Higgins, a two-time Isle of Man TT Champion, possibly the only driver brave enough to take on such a challenge. While the initial video appeared seamless, this behind-the-scenes footage reveals the considerable effort that went into creating the viral sensation. Fitting a four-door sedan onto a narrow bobsled run was no small task.

The modifications made to the vehicle were significant. Subaru managed the project, while ProDrive handled the extensive alterations necessary for the STi to successfully traverse the St. Moritz-Celerina Olympic Bobrun. Enhancements included a redesigned roll cage, more robust front bumper and side skirts, and tires designed to be near flat-resistant.

In a new video, the entire team demonstrates the preparation involved. Everything from taking precise measurements to crafting the ideal surface for the car proved challenging, but the effort seems to have paid off for Subaru: the video has amassed nearly 1.4 million views within just six days.

This activity is a prime example of something you definitely should not attempt at home.
