I will always show support for any car manufacturer that places a large motor in a compact vehicle. Aston is set to carry out this exact plan with the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage. In a concise press release, the British luxury car brand has officially announced the existence of the V12 supercar, unveiling a logo and a brief sound clip.

Aston affirms that the car is labeled as “more than just a Limited Edition, it’s a Final Edition.” Whether this finality pertains to the Vantage model overall or the V12 engine remains uncertain. However, given the current industry trend towards fewer cylinders and increased electrification, it seems likely to be the latter. The tagline “Never leave quietly” at the end of the video further solidifies the notion that this vehicle represents some form of a final chapter.

Extremely aggressive.

Interestingly, the future V12 Vantage will not be the first Vantage-based model to boast 12 cylinders in the current generation. The V12 Speedster released last year, a roofless, 700-horsepower, $950,000 limited edition restricted to 88 units, utilized the same 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V12 found in the DBS Superleggera, with expectations that the upcoming model will continue this trend. For context, the previous-gen V12 Vantage employed the 5.9-liter 12-cylinder from that era’s DBS.

The previous generation also gave rise to the higher-powered S and track-ready GT12 variants. However, with this new model already marked as a Final Edition, it is doubtful that this generation’s V12 Vantage will receive similar treatments.

In any event, the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage will make its debut in, as you might have guessed, 2022.
