Aston Martin has officially unveiled the new name for their remarkable hypercar developed in collaboration with Red Bull Racing, previously known as the AM-RB 001. The vehicle will now be called the Aston Martin Valkyrie, as announced on Aston Martin’s Twitter account.
The tweet highlights that the Valkyrie is joining a prestigious line of Aston Martin models that bear the ‘V’ designation, which includes iconic creations such as the Vantage and Vanquish.
In terms of specifications, the Valkyrie aims for an impressive 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, achieved through the use of a lightweight carbon fiber MonoCell. The car will be powered by a custom-built 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, designed by renowned UK engine manufacturer Cosworth, complemented by a Rimac battery system. Additionally, a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission will be constructed by Ricardo. The ambitious goal for the Valkyrie includes a top speed of 250 mph, the ability to handle 4.5 g of cornering grip, and capability to accelerate to 200 mph in just 10 seconds. Moreover, it promises to generate 4,000 pounds of downforce without the use of a rear wing.
