In the year 2023, the esteemed marque known as Aston Martin will be commemorating its 110th anniversary with a year-long festivity.
Originally established on Sunday, January 15, 1913, by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, the brand’s first vehicle to bear the name “Aston Martin” was finalized two years later, but production was swiftly halted due to the onset of the First World War. Following the resolution of hostilities, the company began serious production of automobiles, solidifying its position as a distinguished British maker of high-quality cars. Throughout its history, Aston Martin has encountered various financial hardships and alterations in ownership. Despite these adversities, the Aston Martin brand has endured, emerging as a proficient supplier of opulent and high-performance vehicles.
Presently, Aston Martin is renowned as one of the globe’s leading boutique luxury car manufacturers, with ambitious plans for the future. To honor its illustrious 110-year history, the brand has opted to showcase its rich heritage through a photo session blending one of its earliest racing cars with its modern flagship vehicle. The session features the Aston Martin Razor Blade, which previously set class records for the brand at the Brooklands race circuit back in 1923. It is photographed alongside the Valkyrie hypercar, a remarkable display of contemporary high-tech capabilities by the brand.
The festivity is designed to echo throughout 2023 as Aston Martin launches the initial models of its new sports car generation. The upcoming models aim to sustain the brand’s tradition of melding top-tier performance with ultimate luxury. Furthermore, the company will unveil a specially crafted, strictly limited-edition model, set to be disclosed later this year.
A grand commemoration of the 110-year milestone will be observed at this year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Additionally, the brand plans to showcase this achievement at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and at various other events in the brand’s primary markets.
The year 2023 is poised to be a momentous one for Aston Martin. This year also signifies 75 years of the company’s celebrated DB model lineage, 60 years since the introduction of the iconic DB5, and 20 years since the brand established its headquarters in Gaydon.
