While competitors like Uber and Waymo openly engage in fierce competition and share notable updates, Apple has taken a different approach by progressing quietly behind the scenes. Recently, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, confirmed to Bloomberg that the company is making solid advancements in developing its own autonomous technologies, particularly a sophisticated AI initiative known as “Titan.”

Although specifics about the final product remain unconfirmed, and no vehicles bearing Apple’s distinctive “i” branding have been disclosed, the company has indicated that Titan signifies significant developments in AI for autonomous systems. Cook described it as “the Mother of all AI Projects,” implying that transportation is at least a partial focus. However, Apple also aims to expand this technology into various other fields. Should their endeavor in AI-powered products prove as successful as the smartphone sector, consumers can expect a transformative experience ahead.

Moreover, the lack of plans for Apple to manufacture cars itself should not be seen as a limitation for a driverless vehicle initiative. It’s likely that major automotive manufacturers will be eager to collaborate with Apple when the timing is right.
