This remarkable 240cc replication of the Zlin Z-37 crop-duster is truly impressive! Crafted by John Greenfield utilizing the Airworld kit, this 141-inch-span model runs on a Valach five-cylinder engine. John expresses, “The Cmelak caught my eye, with its unique design that I admire, along with its sturdy landing gear and straightforward assembly featuring plug-in wings and a simple tail attachment. After examining Airworld’s model kit offerings, I was convinced that this was the one to go for. Further investigation revealed that most Cmelaks sported a yellow finish, but after just completing a Bucker Jungmeister in yellow, I desired something distinct. I stumbled upon a pink variant with captivating graphics on the fuselage. That was the chosen model for me, so I reached out to Airworld to inquire about a pink gel coat version of the Cmelak to save the weight of a full paint job. They agreed to produce it in pink for a modest additional fee, and thus, the order was placed. Overall, assembling it was a fascinating journey, albeit challenging at times due to subpar parts, but the completed model flies beautifully. The engine performs superbly, and in general, it has delivered the objectives I aimed for: a practical everyday model that is easy to put together and flies effortlessly at my local flying field.”
