Fourth Lamborghini Model on the Horizon, CEO Hints at Future Plans

Rumors of a fourth model from Lamborghini are circulating, especially following the upcoming release of the Urus crossover. The CEO of the iconic Italian supercar manufacturer is now providing insights into what this new addition might entail.

In an interview with Australia’s CarAdvice, Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali shared the brand’s ambitious sales targets for the coming years, expressing a desire to achieve annual sales of 10,000 vehicles. To put this in perspective, Lamborghini sold 3,457 supercars—comprising only Huracans and Aventadors—in 2016. This number is projected to double with the introduction of the more accessible Urus. However, Domenicali stated that a fourth model will only be considered after the current lineup stabilizes, which he refers to as the "first wave."

Domenicali noted, "When this first wave concludes around 2022-2023, we will be stable. Then, we envision what the next step will be for Lamborghini—what the right approach is to reach that target of 10,000 cars."

When discussing the potential type of the fourth Lamborghini vehicle, Domenicali emphasized that many options remain open. He remarked that a four-seater grand tourer could pay tribute to the brand’s heritage. "GT cars and four-seaters offer us some ideas, but it’s up to us to decide the direction. We are not ready yet, but we are already considering the technical requirements. Will a super SUV in 2025 affect a 2+2 or GT? We don’t have the answers yet, and we need to prepare for various possibilities."

Additionally, Domenicali mentioned that the company is exploring the possibility of introducing a more entry-level model positioned below the Huracan. "I think some competitors are contemplating this move, and we are certainly considering whether there is an opportunity for us, but we must ensure that we maintain the value of our brand."

As the Urus nears its launch, some traditionalists have expressed discontent over the introduction of a Lamborghini SUV. However, it is important to recognize that such ventures often provide the financial support necessary for developing more iconic models in the future.
