Teen Allegedly Steals Porsche and $200,000, Buys Mother a Car

A Fort Lauderdale teenager has been accused of stealing a Porsche Cayman and over $200,000 in cash from a Florida resident, only to use some of the stolen money to purchase a Dodge Challenger Hellcat for his mother, according to police reports.

Fifteen-year-old Jeremiah Laplace, along with five accomplices, allegedly broke into a house in an affluent section of North Hutchinson Island near Vero Beach early on April 27th. The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office reported that the teens arrived in a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe and knocked on doors until they located an unoccupied residence. Once inside, they reportedly stole a safe filled with cash, several firearms, and the white 2014 Porsche Cayman that was parked at the location.

In the days following the theft, Laplace reportedly used the stolen funds to buy his mother a Hellcat and even gave her $40,000 in cash. Authorities also noted that he indulged himself with purchases including a Mercedes-Benz C300, a gold bracelet, a gold chain, and permanent gold teeth.

The stolen Porsche was discovered in Delray Beach a few days after the burglary, with its keys still inside, as reported by the Miami Herald.

Out of the six teenagers involved, five confessed to their roles in the robbery after being apprehended by law enforcement in connection with other criminal activities. According to the Herald, the group had been linked to similar crimes in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Fort Lauderdale.
