The Honda S600 was one of Japan’s earliest sports cars, making its debut in 1964. With a compact 606cc motorcycle engine, it generated a modest 57 horsepower. However, a Honda S600 dragster in Australia has much grander ambitions.

The YouTube channel 1320video was present at the Jamboree event in Sydney, Australia, where they were astonished by a diminutive Honda S600 featuring an enormous 88mm turbocharger protruding from its hood. This impressive turbocharger is attached to a powerful 3.2-liter 2JZ engine, reportedly delivering over 1,200 horsepower. When combined with the S600’s exceptionally light weight of 1,100 kg, this translates to an astounding quarter-mile time of 7.96 seconds at 179.61 mph.

While this remarkable Honda only advanced to the first round of the Modified 10.5 Class Eliminations, it quickly became the favorite among spectators at Sydney Dragway.
