My Wife’s Beloved Jeep: A Cinematic Journey with George
Two years ago, I encountered my wife’s cherished Jeep, affectionately named George.
George’s journey into the spotlight began when I shared vintage metal vehicles with production companies seeking classic cars for their films.
In just a few weeks, George featured in half a dozen movies, captivating my wife in the process. The reason for his appeal? Unlike many older vehicles, George proved to be a breeze to drive to film sets.
George maintained a straightforward weekly routine: drive, park, and wait. Remarkably, he embodied a vintage look even when new, a testament to Chrysler’s consistent design from 1984 to 1996.
This unique quality allowed George to seamlessly blend into both 1980s and early 2000s film settings, giving my wife a brief escape from the responsibilities of parenthood—and I was all for it.
My wife took full advantage of this time, indulging in books, enjoying catered meals (always saving some for me), and socializing on set while George remained a scenic backdrop in various movie scenes. Life was good—until a tempting offer came my way.
After two years together, I decided to sell George to my mechanic’s niece, who was preparing to start college. As a parting gift, I provided George and his new owner with three fresh Mobil 1 filters.
I hope George is thriving in his new life. Have you ever had an unforgettable Jeep like George?
