VLF Force 1: The Hand-Built Supercar Remains Unaffected by Viper Production Halt
The VLF Force 1, created by automotive innovators Henrik Fisker and Bob Lutz, is a stunning supercar boasting 745 horsepower and a price tag of $268,500. This exclusive vehicle, which draws inspiration from the Dodge Viper, is hand-crafted and is set to remain in production, despite the impending discontinuation of the Viper next month due to stricter safety regulations coming into effect this September.
In an interview with Automotive News, Fisker clarified that the production of the Force 1 will continue unhindered by the Viper’s phase-out, thanks to a collaboration with race car driver Ben Keating. “We have more than enough donor cars to proceed with the Force 1. He purchased them early on for this project,” Fisker explained. Keating operates a specialty Viper dealership in Texas and has secured sufficient donor vehicles for VLF’s planned production run of 50 units.
Equipped with the Viper’s robust 8.4-liter V-10 engine housed in a lightweight carbon fiber frame, the VLF Force 1 delivers an impressive 745 horsepower and 638 pound-feet of torque. It boasts a remarkable acceleration speed of just three seconds from 0 to 60 MPH and can reach a top speed of 218 MPH. “These are hand-built specialty cars for collectors,” Fisker noted, adding that collectors have recently begun receiving their first deliveries of the Force 1.
With the Viper now sold out indefinitely, it raises the question: who has $269,000 to spare?
