Before the debut of its first hybrid model, the luxurious and reportedly more fuel-efficient Bentayga Hybrid, Bentley is outlining its vision to electrify its entire vehicle range and eventually launch a dedicated electric model.

“We will introduce hybrid versions of all our models by 2023,” stated Chris Craft, a member of Bentley’s sales and marketing board, in an interview with Roadshow. This plan indicates that models like the Continental GT, the newly revealed Flying Spur, and the flagship Mulsanne will receive electrified versions in the upcoming years. Although the company has not disclosed which models will go hybrid first or provided details about the drivetrains, it seems likely that variations of the existing plug-in hybrid system from the Bentayga will be featured.

Following the electrification of its complete lineup, Bentley intends to unveil a vehicle that operates solely on electricity.

“The next major goal is to release our first all-electric car by 2025,” said Craft. He noted that over 30 percent of luxury vehicle buyers are interested in electric options, emphasizing that this will play a significant role in Bentley’s future direction.

In contrast, competitor Rolls-Royce has expressed its decision to forgo hybrids entirely, preferring to transition directly to fully electric vehicles when the technology becomes sufficiently established.

The Bentley Bentayga Hybrid is set to be available by the end of this year, featuring a plug-in electric motor paired with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, which promises an electric-only range of 31 miles. Additionally, Bentley’s parent company, Volkswagen, has announced that its ID electric vehicles will include an eight-year battery warranty, adding reassurance for potential buyers..
