Suppressing any part of yourself—whether it be an emotion, a thought, or even a bodily reaction—doesn’t make it simply vanish. That’s not how our minds or bodies function. Instead, these suppressed feelings simmer in the subconscious, becoming increasingly volatile until they inevitably explode with surprising intensity. This brings us to Aston Martin. Historically, to describe the design and aesthetics of Aston Martins as anything but conservative would be questionable. While these cars have never been unattractive, they haven’t exactly pushed the boundaries of design either. With the exception of the Lagonda, the brand has consistently delivered beautiful, yet conservative vehicles.

Take the DB9, for instance; it was undeniably stunning at its launch and will maintain that beauty indefinitely, but its design is still quite traditional. Aston Martin proudly states that its design is based on the Golden Ratio, an ancient principle suggesting that a ratio of about 8:5 is inherently pleasing. Given how the DB9 has aged gracefully, it’s hard to argue with their logic, but it’s apparent they were holding back something more daring.

Recently, however, Aston Martin has revealed a bolder side. While the One-77 was a surprising entry, it marked the start of a series of more adventurous designs. The company has been stepping out of its comfort zone, introducing exciting models like the outlandish Vulcan, the cinematic DB10, and the Valkyrie, a hypercar created in collaboration with the successful Formula One team, Red Bull Racing. Their AMR sub-brand, akin to Mercedes’ AMG or BMW’s M divisions, is integrating motorsport technology into their models, leading to creations like the Rapide AMR and Vantage AMR Pro.

The Vantage AMR Pro not only has the aggressive aesthetics of a radical machine—with its prominent grille and vibrant accents—but it also produces a sound that resembles chaos unleashed by thirty-six anarchists being given control of nuclear weapons. The roar is so intense it feels like it could crush anything beneath it when off the throttle. Still skeptical? Check out the video below to witness it for yourself.
