After the introduction of the all-new, full-size, rear-wheel-drive Cadillac CT6 a couple of years ago, many anticipated that the similarly styled but less luxurious XTS would be phased out. However, the XTS, which was Cadillac’s top-selling car in 2016, has received a refreshing update.

On Monday, Cadillac revealed the revamped XTS, showcasing a modernized design aligned with the aesthetics of the CT6. While the profile remains similar to the previous model, the updated XTS is now more in sync with Cadillac’s impressive lineup. With these enhancements, Cadillac aims to “enhance the allure of this sophisticated sedan.” Standard features include Brembo front brakes, 19-inch wheels, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system.

The updated XTS will also come equipped with the new CUE (Cadillac User Experience) infotainment system, which has been significantly improved from its frustrating predecessor, along with a reworked chassis for a more luxurious driving experience. The focus is on comfort and a quiet ride rather than high-performance, which suits the preferences of most XTS buyers. For those seeking a sportier option, the V-Sport trim is still available, featuring all-wheel drive and a twin-turbo version of the 3.6-liter V6 engine.

It is encouraging to see Cadillac reaffirming its dedication to its sedan lineup, even as one of its crossover models outpaces all other vehicles in sales. Additionally, a new XT3 compact crossover is expected to be available alongside the refreshed XTS by late 2018..
