Bentley marks a significant milestone as it celebrates its first 100 years in the automotive industry. To honor this centennial, the company unveiled the stunning Bentley EXP 100 GT concept, which embodies a futuristic vision of high-end grand touring automobiles. With a design inspired by post-apocalyptic steampunk aesthetics, the EXP 100 GT represents what one might expect from a lavish car set in the year 2035.
This remarkable vehicle not only pays homage to Bentley’s rich heritage of creating luxurious sports grand tourers but also serves as a glimpse into the future of the brand’s upcoming models.
“On our Centenary, we are showcasing our vision for the future of Bentley with the EXP 100 GT – a modern and definitive Grand Tourer that exemplifies our commitment to luxury mobility,” stated Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark. He emphasized that Bentley aims to enhance and enrich the experiences of everyone who travels in or contributes to the crafting of their exceptional products.
The EXP 100 GT is a fully electric vehicle, part of Bentley’s strategy to embrace electrification in the coming years. It features the new “Next Generation Traction Drive,” which combines battery power with torque vectoring.
Equipped with four electric motors, each wheel is individually powered, contributing to a remarkable acceleration time of zero to 60 mph in about 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph, supported by an impressive 1,106 pound-feet of torque. Bentley claims the EXP 100 GT can travel up to 700 kilometers (approximately 434 miles) on a single charge. Additionally, it can recharge to 80 percent capacity in just 15 minutes. The car has a total weight of 4,188 pounds.
The construction of the EXP 100 GT emphasizes sustainability and luxury, utilizing eco-friendly materials. This includes 5,000-year-old, cooper-infused Riverwood from The Fenland Black Oak Project, Cumbrian crystal for interior controls, high-quality wool and cotton from British farms, and organic leather alternatives sourced from Scotland’s Bridge of Weir Leather. The vehicle even includes a purified water decanter for passengers’ convenience during journeys.
The concept vehicle also features the latest iteration of Bentley Personal Assistant, a sophisticated onboard system designed to provide passengers with added convenience. This system alerts drivers when it’s time to recharge and offers tailored recommendations based on driving habits, including navigation updates and nearby charge points for long trips. The assistant can also suggest luxury destinations along the route, thanks to its advanced artificial intelligence capabilities.
Furthermore, the Bentley Personal Assistant integrates intelligent biometric technology, allowing users to customize their settings, such as seat positions and vehicle preferences. It also enables fully autonomous driving.
According to Bentley’s Design Director, Stefan Sielaff, “The EXP 100 GT represents the dream of future automobiles. Similar to the iconic Bentleys of the past, this car resonates emotionally with its passengers, helping them create and cherish unforgettable memories from their remarkable journeys.”.
