Do you remember the Ford Bronco II? It’s one of those trucks that often lacks appreciation. Many criticize it for various reasons—primarily its compact size and sluggish speed—but virtually everyone I’ve spoken to who has owned one has cherished the experience. Passionate Bronco II enthusiasts are still around today, and Vasher Design offers an impressive kit to give the 1983-1988 models a fresh look resembling the new Ford Bronco.

At first glance, this combination may seem unusual, but take a look:

It looks pretty good, if you ask me. It genuinely seems like it could have been designed that way right from the factory. Along with the grille and circular headlights, Vasher Design also offers small features such as various colored “BRONCO” lettering and hood trail sights for the front corners. It’s a complete package.

The Bronco II featured belongs to Robert King, and this was the first one I had seen with such a transformation. He shared images in a Facebook group we are both part of, prompting me to reach out to him. He described the Vasher kit, saying, “I made a few tweaks, but nothing significant to the design. I plan to add light-up ‘BRONCO’ emblems in the grille.”

In total, King reported spending $1,500 for the kit plus a bit more on some additional items. Vasher sells several parts separately, so if you only need the sixth-gen Bronco grille or just the headlights and turn signals, that’s possible. Personally, I would opt for the complete package. Sure, you might find another Bronco II for $1,500, but opting for another truck of questionable reliability isn’t always the solution. Trust me.

Interestingly, Vasher’s kit is also compatible with ’83-’88 Rangers, so if that’s the swap you prefer, go for it.

While I appreciate the classic look of the Bronco II, if you’re considering an upgrade, this is a fantastic option. There are many other, well, let’s say unconventional choices available online, so I recommend exercising caution. Explore it yourself.
