The 2025 Toyota Sequoia, a full-size SUV, features minor updates while maintaining its standard hybrid powertrain.
This year, the Sequoia introduces optional massaging front seats, a new Mudbath color for the TRD Pro off-road variant, an optional wireless trailer camera system, and a newly added 1794 grade that boasts Western-themed aesthetics, positioned near the top of the lineup.

The starting price for the base Sequoia SR5, which includes rear-wheel drive, is $64,120 (all prices inclusive of a $1,945 destination charge). The Limited grade is priced at $70,520, situated just above the SR5. Four-wheel drive is available as a $3,000 option for the SR5 and Limited, while it comes standard on higher trims, which include the Platinum starting at $81,265, the TRD Pro ($81,990), the 1794 edition ($82,080), and the Capstone ($85,610).
Every Sequoia model is equipped with the same hybrid powertrain as the Toyota Tundra pickup. It combines a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission aided by an electric motor, delivering 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a maximum towing capacity of 9,250 pounds.
2025 Toyota Sequoia
The EPA estimates the fuel economy for the 2025 Toyota Sequoia to be 22 mpg combined (21 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway) for rear-wheel drive models, while four-wheel drive models achieve 20 mpg combined (19 mpg city and 22 mpg highway).
Currently, the Sequoia stands as the only hybrid full-size SUV available in the U.S., a distinction that will soon change. Stellantis is set to introduce extended-range plug-in hybrid variants of the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer next year. Additionally, Ford’s renewed focus on hybrid vehicles may result in a hybrid version of the Expedition, potentially featuring a variant of the powertrain used in the current F-150 Hybrid pickup.
