Year, Make, Model: 2019 Ram Power Wagon
Overview: The 2019 Ram Power Wagon, recognized as a powerful off-road vehicle, boasts significant updates including a fresh design, advanced technology, and a completely revamped interior.
Highlights of the Update: The Power Wagon receives enhancements following the redesign of the 2019 Ram 1500 and the new Ram Heavy Duty lineup. Key exterior modifications include new LED headlights and taillights, along with a robust Warn winch capable of lifting 12,000 pounds.
The interior of the Power Wagon has been entirely overhauled, replacing the traditional column-mounted shifter with a more modern rotary shift knob. The Uconnect infotainment system now includes a comprehensive 360-degree camera, offering enhanced visibility for parking and navigating off-road terrains.
Quote: “The Ram Heavy Duty line can move mountains and climb them, but customers will truly appreciate the comfort and competence our engineers have established through real-world tuning of the chassis and suspension. We not only set out to be the most capable, we also instill best-in-class confidence,” stated Rob Wichman, head of Ram Engineering.
Key Features: According to Ram, the Power Wagon stands out as the most capable off-road pickup truck currently available. It includes front and rear locking differentials and an electronic sway bar disconnect. The vehicle’s unique Warn winch, specific to the Power Wagon, further enhances its off-road capability—making it the only pickup with such a feature for sale in the U.S.
The 2019 winch is a Warn Zeon-12, featuring a distinct fairlead and fairlead retainer. It utilizes a synthetic line instead of steel, improving usability and safety. This design also reduces the unit’s weight by 28 pounds, strategically positioned at the front of the truck to lower overall weight.
The exterior of the Power Wagon retains distinctive graphics from its previous generation, including the labeled tailgate. Inside, it features exclusive interior accents alongside an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, in addition to the new 360-degree camera system.
Under the hood, the Power Wagon is powered by a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine, generating 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, along with front and rear differentials that can be locked to ensure off-road performance.
If potential buyers are interested in the Power Wagon’s features without the distinct appearance, these options are available on the Tradesman trim level. It retains the Power Wagon label on the tailgate, but presents a more understated exterior without sacrificing capability.
The public will have the opportunity to view the 2019 Power Wagon at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this week. Pricing details have not been revealed yet, but it is expected to be launched alongside the redesigned 2019 Ram Heavy Duty later this year.
