Nissan is making strides to refresh its entire lineup for the 2018 model year, covering everything from performance vehicles to SUVs. While the company has a history of delay in updating its sports cars, one model that has suffered from neglect for an extended period is the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier remains in its second generation, with the U.S. model last updated in 2005—until now.

Nissan recently revealed the pricing and features for the 2018 Frontier on Tuesday, introducing important updates that align it with both Nissan’s new offerings and the competition in the mid-size truck market. Among the new standard features are Bluetooth connectivity, a RearView Monitor, cruise control, as well as a rear and hands-free phone system with Siri Eyes Free integrated into the updated 5-inch infotainment display.

The updated Frontier will be available in both King and Crew Cab variants, and buyers can choose their preferred drive configurations and powertrains. The base model, the Frontier S King Cab 4×2, starts at $18,990 and comes with either a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, coupled with a 152-horsepower four-cylinder engine. For those seeking a more powerful 261-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 engine, the SV trim or any Crew Cab variant must be selected, starting at $24,300.

Five new packages are introduced for the Frontier, including the S Work Truck Package, which adds features such as splash guards, rubber floor mats, bedrail caps, and a spray-in bedliner for dedicated truck users.

The SV Value Truck Package enhances the vehicle with heated seats, dual-zone climate control, additional speakers, leather-wrapped interior surfaces, and other practical amenities. Additionally, the SV trim can be upgraded with the Moonroof Package, which is standard on higher end trims.

The Premium Package for the Frontier Crew Cab PRO-4X includes heated mirrors, more leather accents, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and a roof rack.

The Nissan Frontier also becomes the third truck to feature the Midnight Edition Package, which adds a gloss-black finish to components such as wheels, step rails, the grille, badging, mirrors, and door handles, along with exclusive “Midnight Edition” badges in key areas.

The 2018 Frontier is now available at dealerships, with the Midnight Edition set to launch later this year.
