The Centenario project represents a significant achievement for the Lamborghini team based in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Created to celebrate the centenary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birth, the company has produced 20 coupe and 20 roadster versions of this remarkable V12 sports car. The Centenario boasts a daring design that distinguishes it even among the most avant-garde supercars available, with the roadster version offering an exhilarating driving experience. Today, the first Centenario Roadster was delivered, marking a milestone for this historically extravagant brand.
To summarize the Centenario’s remarkable features, it is a $2.3 million vehicle powered by a 770-horsepower V12 engine and constructed largely from carbon fiber. It is not merely an upgraded version of the Aventador; rather, it showcases Lamborghini’s in-depth research into carbon composites and lightweight materials. This model is arguably the most radically designed Lamborghini to date, highlighting the brand’s bold legacy.
The Centenario is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.9 seconds and achieving a top speed of 217 miles per hour, matching the impressive performance of the Aventador SV.
“This vehicle is significant not just for Lamborghini, but for innovation within the supercar industry as a whole,” said Alessandro Farmeschi, Chief Operating Officer of Lamborghini America, in a press release. “Leading the way in carbon fiber technology, the Centenario features a full carbon fiber monocoque and body, offering exceptional aerodynamic performance.”
The initial delivery took place at Lamborghini Beverly Hills. It is fitting that the first Centenario Roadster would be delivered in California, a state synonymous with wealth and opulence.
Lamborghini asserts that the vehicle is “well-suited” for California, with its yellow accents beautifully complementing the carbon fiber exterior. The interior features black Nero Ade leather and Alcantara, embellished with yellow piping and stitching, creating a cohesive theme from the exterior to the interior.
Consequently, the fortunate buyer secured the Centenario Roadster for approximately $2 million and has the honor of being the first recipient of this exceptional model. All examples have been sold out, and deliveries are set to continue globally over the coming year.
