(Wilkes-Barre, PA) – On December 11, 2023, Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown honored a local automotive group for its contributions to the Wilkes-Barre Police K-9 program.

MotorWorld Toyota, located in Wilkes-Barre, has recently made a generous donation of $15,000 through MileOneCares, the charitable initiative of MileOne Autogroup, specifically for the Wilkes-Barre City Police K-9 Unit and its community policing efforts.

These funds will be used to expand the K-9 unit within the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, which is dedicated to ensuring community safety and welfare.

Mayor Brown formally recognized MotorWorld and MileOne Autogroup with a proclamation that acknowledged their ongoing commitment to supporting the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department. The mayor’s office noted that MileOne Autogroup has previously assisted the police force by supplying equipment for their vehicles, in addition to consistently backing the K-9 program with financial support.
