The Nissan Versa may be approaching the end of its production run, but it’s making an effort to offer consumers savings as it closes out its legacy. The 2025 Versa is now available for purchase, and while its price has risen by around $1,000, it introduces a few new features. As it enters its final year, the Nissan Versa retains its title as the most affordable sedan in the United States.
The 2025 Nissan Versa will continue to be offered in S, SV, and SR trims, with the base model still featuring a five-speed manual transmission. The starting price for the 2025 Versa is $17,190, marking an increase of $1,060 from the 2024 model’s MSRP of $16,130. Additionally, the destination charge has risen by $25 to $1,140. As a result, the overall MSRP for the final year totals $18,330, reflecting the effects of inflation.
What do you get for the price hike? Standard LED headlights! The Versa underwent a refresh in 2023, so this year’s model is largely a continuation of last year’s, with only a slight price increase of $300. Moreover, those stylish new headlights accompany the offer of complimentary oil changes.
With every purchase or lease of a 2025 Versa (and any 2025 Nissan model), Nissan Maintenance Care is included. This complimentary service package covers up to three scheduled oil changes within two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
All Versa models feature a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. Except for the manual-equipped S model, all other variants come with the Xtronic CVT. The Versa with a manual transmission achieves an EPA-rated fuel economy of 30 mpg combined, while the CVT model improves this to 35 mpg combined.
For those looking to spend a bit more, the optional S Plus package includes larger 16-inch wheels, 60/40-split rear seats, and NissanConnect compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SV trim adds features such as body-colored exterior accents, heated mirrors, push-button start, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. At the top of the line, the SR trim boasts 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, climate control, adaptive cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen, and additional infotainment options.
To clarify the details, the least expensive car currently available is the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage, priced at $18,140 (including the $1,145 destination charge). However, since there will be no 2025 model of the Mirage, the Versa will remain the only option under $20,000 for the upcoming model year. As it is likely the final model of its kind, the Versa will be discontinued next spring, leaving prospective buyers with limited options for budget-friendly new vehicles.
