Several questions sprang to mind about this car. How did it end up here? Why is it being sold with so few miles? Was it a problematic purchase? Did the previous owner face financial issues? What circumstances led a nearly $300,000 supercar to a town with a population of just 39,000? The truth, however, was a lot more mundane than any action-packed thriller and instead resembled the typical workings of a business like Sterling Cooper from Mad Men.
We contacted Hyundai of Wentzville for more information. In a conversation with sales specialist Blake Meyers, it was revealed that the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder LP580-2 was originally purchased by the dealership’s owner, Raj Clement. Meyers stated, “Clement bought it, and now he’s selling it—there’s not much more to the story.” He added that showcasing the supercar in the showroom could also help the dealership attract more customers.
And, to be frank, it seems to have worked, as we are currently covering it.
Regarding the supercar itself, the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder LP580-2 epitomizes the Lamborghini experience: rear-wheel drive, open-top, and vibrant color. It represents the archetypal Lamborghini aesthetic, and alternatives that diverge from this formula seem to miss the mark.
Powered by a 5.2-liter V-10 engine and paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Huracan Spyder LP580-2 is strictly rear-wheel drive. This configuration not only makes it more agile and lighter but also emphasizes a more engaging driving experience compared to its all-wheel-drive counterpart.
In my own experience behind the wheel of such striking supercars, the thrill is unmatched—at least in a conventional sense. In an era dominated by all-wheel drive and numerous electronic aids, this car still delivers pure exhilaration.
As for the new listing at Hyundai of Wentzville, the asking price stands at $226,717. When financed, this translates to approximately $2,748 per month over 72 months with a down payment of $45,343 at a 2.9% interest rate. While not exactly budget-friendly, the dealership’s website suggests the possibility of a 30-year, 30,000-mile warranty, which might make the hefty price tag more manageable, even if it requires a trip to Missouri to finalize the sale.
