Driving down the long, desolate interstate just got a tech upgrade with iTunes. Peterbilt recently introduced a new infotainment option for its trucks, featuring modern technology enhancements, including compatibility with Apple CarPlay.

This innovative infotainment center will be offered for all conventional cab trucks, which are the typical long-haul semis frequently seen on highways. It boasts an upgraded operating system that enhances performance, an improved user interface, and a variety of infotainment and navigation features.

“Our goal at Peterbilt is to provide drivers with the best possible experience in our vehicles,” stated Jake Montero, assistant general manager of Peterbilt Sales and Marketing. “The new infotainment center delivers a user-friendly interface and strong functionality, along with crucial vehicle and route information to optimize productivity.”

A key highlight of the new infotainment system is the addition of both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. Android users can also connect their devices wirelessly, although the system currently lacks integrated use of Android Auto, unlike Apple CarPlay.

Additional features of the new infotainment center include an analog HD camera display with split-screen capability, integrated truck-specific navigation with three years of complimentary map updates, and an AM/FM/SiriusXM radio that offers weather reports. The system also supports English, Spanish, and French languages. This updated infotainment technology is set to benefit both experienced and new drivers, and will be available for orders of Peterbilt trucks starting this month.
