Last week at SEMA, the public got its first look at the completely redesigned 2018 Jeep Wrangler, although details about the next-generation model have leaked frequently throughout its development. Enthusiasts are already aware of various new engine and transmission options, including an eight-speed automatic and a diesel variant. Additionally, the interior has received some enhancements, and the iconic feature of a foldable windshield remains intact. However, one detail that had yet to be revealed was the color options for this adventure-ready vehicle. How about “Nacho Clear Coat”?
Coinciding with National Nachos Day, the JL Wrangler Forums recently obtained a screenshot from an internal Fiat-Chrysler dealer system, revealing a comprehensive list of paint choices for the 2018 Wrangler. This new information doubles the previously confirmed color palette and offers a clearer picture of what the vehicle will look like when it hits the market early next year. The screenshot lists five new clear-coat color options, four of which are entirely new: Nacho, Mojito!, Punk’n Metallic, Ocean Blue Metallic, and Sting-Gray.
These new colors expand the palette that also includes Billet Silver Metallic, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal Metallic, Bright White, and Black. Thanks to some clever photography and a color-matching tool used by the JL Wrangler Forums, we can now see renders of these colors applied to the Wrangler. They also created renders for the four-door model, some of which are displayed below.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is set for its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, leaving fans eager to find out what other surprises may still be in store..
