A glimpse of a well-camouflaged Tesla Robotaxi prototype, dubbed the “Cybercab,” has reportedly surfaced online. This vehicle was spotted alongside a Tesla Model Y and appears to be a compact two-seater, significantly smaller than the popular all-electric crossover.

Recent speculation indicates that Tesla may unveil the eagerly awaited Robotaxi “Cybercab” at Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, California. Although the electric automaker has not confirmed this location for the Robotaxi debut, noted Tesla hacker @greentheonly has noted that the company seems to be engaged in extensive data collection efforts in the vicinity.

The observations made by the Tesla hacker were seemingly backed up by a member of the r/TeslaMotors subreddit, known as u/dent3dwheel, who reported that Tesla had been testing a fleet of vehicles around Warner Brothers Studio for the past week. Another subreddit member, u/boopitysmopp, also chimed in, mentioning that he has noticed the Tesla fleet during his nightly departures from the area.

Interestingly, this subreddit member asserted that Tesla appeared to be trialing a small, heavily disguised vehicle. He shared an image of the obscure car, which featured bright yellow wrapping and what looked like dummy body panels. However, sharp-eyed Tesla enthusiasts noted that this vehicle resembles the Robotaxi concept image highlighted in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk.

The Robotaxi image featured in Isaacson’s book depicts a small two-seater vehicle with ample cargo space in the back. Tesla community members have pointed out that these design elements seem present in the recently leaked images of the Robotaxi prototype. The vehicle has two doors and a cabin designed to accommodate two adults comfortably. Additionally, it appears to feature larger rear wheels, with reports from subreddit members suggesting its tail lights resemble those of the Cybertruck.

While Tesla has not provided extensive details about the Robotaxi, the company did confirm in its Q2 2024 Update Letter that the vehicle will be produced using its “unboxed” manufacturing process at Giga Texas. Preparations are apparently in full swing for the unveiling event, with the company also announcing an opportunity for TSLA retail shareholders to win a chance to attend.
