Kia’s Asia Pacific president and CEO, Kevin Ahn, stated, “Malaysia was chosen from our 34 markets in APAC due to its strategic location, which enables us to address the changing demands of the industry while ensuring our teams remain ahead in technological advancements. Furthermore, Malaysia’s diverse talent pool and proficiency in languages make it the perfect spot for our training centre.”

The facility features modern display classrooms designed for theoretical instruction, comprehensive workshops for hands-on practice, a computerized vehicle resource centre, virtual repair simulators, and specialized diagnostic tools. Trainees will also gain practical experience with Kia’s latest vehicles, including the EV6, EV9, and the upcoming EV5 and EV3.

Kia emphasized that the training centre’s facilities and methodology adhere to the global standards established by the Hyundai Motor Group. Its strategic proximity to Kia’s flagship 3S centre allows trainees to engage with practical, real-world situations.

Upon finishing their programs, participants will receive certification from Kia APAC, affirming their skills and expertise within the company’s international frameworks. The training centre, described by Kia as a significant milestone in its regional expansion, can host up to 80 trainees at a time, with a goal of training up to 3,000 individuals annually to service all 34 markets across the Asia Pacific region.
