Have you heard of the BOSS GP racing series? This unique competition features single-seater race cars from various elite categories, including Indycar, Formula One, and Japan’s Super Formula. As a result, it showcases a diverse array of vehicles, leading to a clear ranking of cars and drivers based on their equipment and skill levels.

However, a driver’s financial backing does not always correlate with their expertise. Occasionally, BOSS GP participants experience accidents due to lack of experience, even if they have previous racing backgrounds. A notable incident occurred during a practice session at the Gamma Racing Days event over the weekend at the TT Circuit Assen.

According to reports from f1anaticgp, Klaas Zwart, a Dutch businessman and founder of the now-closed supercar company Ascari Cars, was the sole driver involved in this crash. Zwart was piloting his 2004 Jaguar R5 Cosworth Formula One car when he attempted to overtake a slower competitor. After navigating a left turn, he found himself alongside the other vehicle, but the driver in front failed to check their mirrors, resulting in Zwart being forced off the track into the grass. This led to his car spinning out and hitting the wall after skipping over the gravel trap. Fortunately, Zwart emerged unscathed.

Reports indicate that his car sustained significant damage, making it too costly to repair before the weekend’s events concluded. Key components such as the transmission, suspension, floor, and bodywork were reportedly beyond repair, and there were not enough spare parts available at the venue to continue racing.

There is speculation that Zwart may consider stepping away from BOSS GP due to the increasing prevalence of inexperienced drivers in the series..
