Lamborghinis are probably not the best choice for criminals looking for getaway vehicles. While these supercars are undeniably fast, their eye-catching design makes it hard for drivers to remain inconspicuous. In fact, thieves might find it easier to escape in a brightly colored Ford Mustang than in a Lamborghini. Nevertheless, reports indicate that thieves are stealing Lamborghinis at an alarming rate, often encountering similar unfortunate outcomes.

In a recent incident, two men stole a Lamborghini from the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas, Texas, on a Sunday morning, according to local authorities. Their joyride quickly turned into a police chase after a helicopter spotted the stolen vehicle on Interstate 45 about an hour later. After a brief pursuit, the chase ended when the Lamborghini caught fire on the highway, leading to the suspects’ arrest.

While it remains unclear which specific model was stolen, the fiery end suggests it might have been an Aventador—a model known for its tendency to ignite. Perhaps, in light of this unusual trend in supercar thefts, Lamborghini should reconsider its recall policies..
