A beloved ritual among car enthusiasts is taking a favorite vehicle in Forza and enhancing it to the extreme. Forget practicality; this is about the thrill of the experience. One Audi R8 owner from Finland decided to pursue this dream differently—rather than simply purchasing an Xbox, he enlisted the help of his engineer friends to transform his supercar into an uncompromising time attack machine, setting the standard as one of the fastest former road cars globally.

Describing the Fat Cat R8 as just another Forza creation doesn’t do it justice. Rather than a haphazard collection of basic parts, this car features a truly distinctive design. For instance, the body is reportedly the widest known racing car body in the world, measuring nearly 112 inches—over nine feet. Each panel is custom-crafted from carbon fiber, designed to fit a unique aerodynamic profile that creates an astonishing 10,600 pounds of downforce at 180 mph.

In order to harness the significant downforce, the Audi features specially designed pushrod suspension, complete with unique geometry and inboard dampers—six in total, specifically a mix of Öhlins and Tractive systems. Additionally, it utilizes a square tire setup, with uniform 300-section tires on all four corners, an unusual choice for a mid-engine vehicle.

The engine powering this beast is a 5.2-liter Lamborghini V10, complete with a turbocharger for each bank. However, this isn’t your typical influencer’s time bomb; it features custom heads, pistons, rods, and exhaust manifolds, along with a water-to-air intercooler that lowers intake temperatures. Coupled with a Holinger six-speed manual transmission, it generates a staggering 1,370 horsepower—measured at the wheels, no less, across all four.

Weighing in at approximately 2,866 pounds, the Fat Cat achieves a power-to-weight ratio exceeding one horsepower per kilogram—a feat akin to that of the Koenigsegg One:1. This is not just theoretical, as the Fat Cat accelerates from 62 to 124 mph in just 3.8 seconds, outpacing the Bugatti Chiron. Its maximum speed is capped at 186 mph, although time attack events rarely allow for speeds beyond that threshold.

Interestingly, despite all the bespoke modifications, the most expensive component of this R8 is reported to be its Audi Sport GT racing seat. This raises a curious question about the price tag attached to those seats.

The Fat Cat regularly competes in some of the most intense motorsport events worldwide, from Norway’s extreme Gatebil to the World Time Attack Challenge. Most recently, it triumphed in the Pro-Am Unlimited class at the Sydney Motorsports Park race, beating the formidable C6 Chevy Corvette driven by Feras Qartoumy. This car stands as a strong contender for the overall record at Pikes Peak, but according to a comment from the team on YouTube, any potential dreams of racing to the summit will have to be postponed. Perhaps we might eventually witness it go head-to-head against Robin Shute’s Red Bull X2010-inspired creation.
