Early Saturday morning, one of Toronto’s main roadways experienced an unusual amount of traffic congestion after a driver in a Lamborghini Murciélago, seemingly engaged in street racing, encountered an unfortunate turn of events.
Dashcam footage shared by Reddit user ReeG shows a Murciélago LP 640 Roadster speeding dangerously northbound on the Don Valley Parkway, closely followed by what appears to be a white, wingless Honda Civic—its exaggerated fake vents giving it away.
Less than 10 minutes and a short distance of 5 miles later, the same Lamborghini is seen parked askew, severely damaged, and leaning against a dump truck, accompanied by two nearby cars. The front and rear license plates of the V12 supercar are scattered across the road, positioned in such a way that the driver’s registration number is clearly visible to onlookers, adding an element of irony to the mishap.
According to the poster, “This Lambo and a few other cars raced past us heading north on the DVP just before Bloor at 12:48am. As we got closer to Eglinton, traffic was backed up due to the wrecked Lambo. The driver remained in the car and appeared to be okay, although it was difficult to tell if anyone else was inside.” A tweet from the Toronto Police Service confirmed that there were no serious injuries reported.
Regardless of any injuries, it’s evident that driving at such high speeds on a crowded public freeway is an extremely reckless move—no matter how much encouragement you receive from other drivers in less powerful cars.
The incident is likely under investigation at this time. While the current location of the white Civic remains uncertain, residents of Toronto who recognize the car or hear any misguided stories of “taking down a Lambo” in the near future are urged to reach out to law enforcement.
