Ginetta, the renowned British sports car manufacturer, has officially unveiled the production model of the Akula. Initially introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Ginetta Akula is a two-seater coupe featuring a front-mounted V8 engine and an impressive 473+ litre trunk.

The name ‘Akula’ translates to ‘shark’ in Russian, which is fitting given the vehicle’s design. Its distinctive shark-like nose incorporates integrated vents and multiple surfaces designed to enhance downforce at the front.

On the sides, the Akula showcases large extractor vents situated behind the front fenders, while the rear features a fixed wing and an extensive diffuser. Notably, the exhaust pipes exit from the sides of the vehicle.

Under the hood, the Akula boasts a 6.4-liter V8 engine, positioned front-mid, that produces an impressive 600 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual with a triple-plate clutch. Constructed primarily from carbon fiber, the vehicle weighs in at just 1190 kg, with Ginetta claiming a remarkable 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 2.9 seconds.

The Akula is equipped with Pirelli P Zero tires and features steel brakes, although carbon ceramic brakes are available as an optional upgrade. Additionally, customers will find a carbon fiber racing steering wheel, six-point racing harnesses, and even a complete racing suit included.

Priced at $361,130, Ginetta will produce only 20 units of the Akula.
