The Dodge Demon is still on the horizon, yet Hennessey Performance has already developed a performance upgrade for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that is designed to rival the Demon.
This enhancement is aptly named “The Exorcist.” Hennessey has boosted the already powerful LT4 V8 engine in the ZL1 to deliver an impressive 1,000 horsepower. This was achieved through modifications that include ported cylinder heads, a more aggressive camshaft, a high-flow supercharger paired with an upgraded intercooler, a custom ECU tune, and various other enhancements. Collectively, these changes result in 1,000 hp at 6,400 rpm and 966 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm.
John Hennessey, the founder and president of the company, stated, “With rear drag radial tires, The Exorcist can achieve 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in less than 10 seconds.” He emphasized that “The Exorcist is not just about quarter-mile racing. It’s a versatile super muscle car that performs just as well on a road course as it does on a drag strip or city streets. This will certainly turn heads among the competition.”
The upgrade for The Exorcist can be applied to both manual and automatic ZL1 models, priced at $55,000. While it may be a significant investment, it does come with a two-year or 24,000-mile warranty. Please note that extra tires are not included in this package..
