Have you ever thought, “Today’s the day I’ll pay double for a pre-owned supercar and take 15 years to settle it?” A dealership in Southern California has an opportunity for you, but you need to hurry because this “deal” expires today.

The Newport Beach Automotive Group specializes in high-end supercars, catering to all your needs for new and used Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Pininfarina models. Currently, the dealership is featuring an August sales promotion on a 2023 Lamborghini Urus S. This low-mileage luxury vehicle comes with a price tag of $283,353. With a down payment of $57,000 on a 180-month lease, your monthly payments would total just $2,698, plus tax.

If you decide to pay the minimum monthly amount over the entire lease duration of 15 years, by 2039, you’ll end up spending approximately $542,640 for the used SUV. This is nearly double its initial dealer price from 2024, minus taxes. On the bright side, this is a simple interest loan, meaning any extra monthly payments directly reduce the principal balance, ultimately decreasing the total interest paid.

However, aside from the hefty price tag for an Urus that originally had an MSRP of $233,263—about 21% lower than the current dealer asking price—the loan term of 180 months is excessively long, even for a luxury vehicle. According to Lending Tree, standard loan terms for high-end cars typically range from 72 to 84 months, with 144 months being somewhat common. But hey, what’s an extra 36 months?

Is the financing option from Newport on the Urus really a great deal? A payment calculator from Woodside Credit, a prominent collector car financing company known for offering extended lease terms, indicates that the minimum monthly payment is $2,958. This figure assumes a 20% down payment, matching the dealer’s suggested $57,000 investment. This translates to a savings of $260 a month, essentially equal to the cost of a tank of gas in Southern California.

Another benefit is that the Lamborghini may come with a pre-paid maintenance plan. These packages are transferable to the new owner of the vehicle if the previous owner opted in. Even without this, you’ll still own a striking bright yellow Urus that the advertisement describes as “exuding audacious style.”

If a metallic yellow isn’t to your taste, the dealership lists 60 vehicles in its used inventory, with a quarter being Lamborghini super SUVs in various specifications and colors. If you’re not ready to commit to a 15-year payment plan, there are other options like a couple of Broncos, a Baby Bugatti II, and a Corvette Stingray all priced under $75,000. Alternatively, if you’re seeking something even more extravagant, a Bugatti Chiron SuperSport is available for $5.5 million. Just don’t expect any discounts on that one.
