What happens when a vintage Bombardier Snowcat and a 1989 Cadillac Brougham limousine combine? If such a fusion were biologically or mechanically feasible, it would likely resemble the striking creation currently available for sale in Canada for an enticing price of $6,000. All that’s missing is a denim tuxedo to complete the look.

There exists a special breed of automotive creators who never pause to question their inventive choices, and Robert Falck from British Columbia is proudly one of them. He initially constructed this unique vehicle for a film production in Vancouver, later purchasing it back once filming concluded. This is far from a mere artistic display; this remarkable vehicle is operational, capable of driving, and retains the plush interior typical of Cadillac’s Malaise era.

Falck chose not to comment when approached by The Drive due to legal matters related to the studio but shared key details about the vehicle with Jalopnik. He crafted a custom ladder frame from square-tubed steel, merging it with the base of an older Bombardier SV250 Skidozer and the body of the 1989 Cadillac limousine. The front skis are connected to a sturdy rack-and-pinion steering system, enhanced by a power steering cooler. A small-block Chevrolet V8 engine delivers power via a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission to a one-ton truck axle.

While it may not be the most rugged construction, Falck pointed to a YouTube video showcasing the vehicle as it navigates a snowy trail, even climbing a small ledge at the end. Now, we’re intrigued to discover the film for which it was built. According to Falck, the plot revolves around “a rich guy who owned a ski resort,” and he hinted that “it was a large studio with a bunch of lawyers.” Given its whimsical appearance, it’s likely a comedy; after all, the wealthy resort owner often plays the antagonist in many ski and snowboard films.

However, we still haven’t pinpointed the exact movie. Is it Out Cold? Shred? Ski Patrol? If you have any insight, feel free to share your thoughts below—the public deserves to witness this Caddy Snowcat’s cinematic debut..
