Chrysler has been relatively under the radar among Fiat Chrysler brands in recent years, especially since the departure of the 300 SRT from the US market in 2015. Recent spy photos suggest that FCA might be exploring the idea of reviving the SRT 300. The vehicle being tested appears to be equipped with 315 mm tires and four-piston Brembo brakes, signaling potential enhancements in performance compared to the current 300-horsepower, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine found in the 300S model.

While the Chrysler 300 shares its chassis and many components with the Dodge Charger, FCA has yet to offer it the powerful 6.4-liter V8 or the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 options that are available in the Scat Pack and Hellcat models. It’s worth noting that SRT 300s are still available in markets outside the United States, leading to speculation that this prototype could be a version of the Hellcat. Should a Hellcat Chrysler 300 enter production, it would mark the introduction of the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 to Australia, where such models are currently unavailable.

The body of the test vehicle seems unaltered, but if FCA decides to install a Hellcat engine, we can anticipate significant performance upgrades. Stay tuned to The Drive for updates on this developing story..
