Ahead of the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Lexus has introduced a striking new design: the Lexus LC Convertible Concept, a stunning convertible that captures attention.

Lexus boldly claims that the design is inspired by the idea of “ultimate beauty” — a statement that truly holds merit as the vehicle embodies that concept. While it closely resembles the existing LC coupe, the convertible version is undeniably appealing without a roof. Lexus describes the LC Convertible Concept as “an aspirational halo vehicle” for the brand. Although it may not reach the legendary status of the LFA, it’s certainly an impressive addition.

Although official performance specifications are not available since this is still a concept, it’s reasonable to speculate that it will feature the same 5.0-liter V8 engine found in the LC 500, delivering 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, a hybrid version might be in the works, potentially utilizing the 3.5-liter hybrid V6 from the LC 500h, which provides a total system output of 354 horsepower and achieves a combined fuel economy of 30 mpg. Regarding pricing, it’s likely that the LC Convertible will come with a price tag slightly higher than the LC’s starting price of $92,200.

While Lexus has not officially confirmed production plans, it seems logical for this concept to advance to production. Typically, when a concept car closely resembles a model that could easily transition into showrooms, it often does, with only minor alterations. Many are hopeful that this attractive convertible will follow that trend.
